When compared to other art forms, film is still in its infancy. With the advent of some of the most innovative filmmaking methods and industry-breaking movements in the 21st century, modern cinema as we know it has just recently begun.
Despite this, as the year 2023 approaches, we are witnessing an increasing number of centennial anniversaries as screen media reaches its most momentous milestone to yet.
For instance, the BBC celebrated its official 100th anniversary in 2022 with specials including a number of its most well-known shows, including Doctor Who.

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony took place earlier this year, marking a significant milestone. When one takes into account its historical significance and influence on cinema culture, 2023’s Disney centenary celebration may perhaps be more significant than the others.
Established on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt and Roy, the Walt Disney Company would come to define childhood for many generations via its ground-breaking animation breakthroughs and innovative approach to children’s literature.
We can all name at least one Disney film that had a significant influence on our early years, demonstrating the incomprehensible worldwide influence that Disney has had for the past 100 years.
Disney has just acquired Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, and Marvel Entertainment, therefore solidifying its position as the industry leader in the film industry. Disney+, their streaming service, was ultimately released.
Considering this, it becomes sense to presume that Disney intends to celebrate this landmark 100 years with enormous hoopla.

Wish was originally scheduled for release on November 24, 2023—just one month ahead of the 100th anniversary—but it has now been pushed up to November 22!
Additionally, Disney is offering moviegoers an early viewing of the film on November 18 through a special showing in a few theatres. Tickets are available at Fandango.com/DisneyWishEarlyAccess for the early viewing.
Wish, in contrast to many previous Disney productions over the past several years, will debut exclusively in theatres rather than immediately onDisney+. Wish is such a momentous occasion, and theatres have been essential to Disney’s remarkable past, so it seems logical that they would make this decision. That being said, Wish is planned to arrive on Disney+ in 2024, so fans who are unable to attend an anticipated sold-out theatre shouldn’t worry too much.
About three months following their theatrical release, the majority of Disney films are available on streaming services.
Is “Wish” Getting A Trailer?
On April 27, 2023, we saw the first official trailer for Wish. While not providing much information, the teaser does show off the integration of 2D and 3D animation.
The movie is a perfect representation of Disney’s centenary celebration, showcasing a masterful fusion of traditional and contemporary animation techniques. Watch the trailer for Wish to get a taste of the Disney enchantment.
Disney has unveiled a brief new trailer for Wish that maintains the wonderful delights of the animated picture while omitting any new material.
Wish’s first full trailer, which provided more narrative details, was unveiled on September 27.
Disney also unveiled a Chris Pine-starring featurette. The behind-the-scenes video is available below.
Did you like the music in that feature film? Disney released a one-minute music video for “This Is The Thanks I Get?!” on October 25, which you can view here, as a follow-up to the behind-the-scenes film.
Who Make Up Wish’s Cast?

Wish has a small cast list as of yet, however it is certain that the film’s two stars will be portrayed by two outstanding performers.
Chris Pine will portray King Magnifico, Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) will portray Asha, and Alan Tudyk (Harley Quinn) will provide the voice of Valentino.
Fans may anticipate that Wish will give the 100th anniversary of Disney justice, with these two fantastic talents collaborating on a script written by director Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the creators of films like Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, and Zootopia, to mention a few.
What Does Wish Concern?
The Wish storyline will be very important for such a significant occasion. The Wish storyline summary is as follows:
Disney’s millions of fans will find much to enjoy in this narrative summary, which will generate a lot of talk as the fanbase gets closer to the release date.
It goes without saying that Disney will look for references to their 100-year history in this film, given the significance of the occasion.
Asha wishes upon a star in this movie, maybe even the same star that so many well-known Disney characters have also wished upon, in true Disney style.
Disney has always used the star symbol heavily, from Pinocchio to Peter Pan, therefore it is ideal to see our protagonist partner up with Mickey Mouse, who may be the second most recognisable Disney figure of all time.
It hasn’t been verified, but there is a good chance that this movie is a spiritual precursor to Pinocchio.
